Step back in Time

I thought I'd have a play with one of my Joanna Sheen CD's and decided to take some inspiration from the Papertake Weekly Sketch.

This is the card I came up with, it will be ideal for one of my best friends birthdays.

The papers and the image were all from the Viva La Divas CD, the card stock is some I've had in my stash for ages along with the ribbon.  The flower is a Marianne CreaTables die and the border is one of my Spellbinders Edgeabilities.

As usual I have decorated the inside of my card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Sketch
The CD Sunday Challenge - Fifties Fun
Moving Along with the Times - Step back in Time
Crafs 4 Eternity Recipe 52 - Quote

It's a Boy

I have made this card for this month's Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge - New Beginnings.  I decided to make a new baby card as my niece is expecting a baby in February - I just hope I've got the right colour.

The decoupaged image and papers all come from Craftter's Companion Popcorn the Bear Kids Collection CD and I have layered everything onto some blue card stock.  I used a scalloped card base and used a Spellbinders Classic Scallop Edgeabilities die to cut the scalloped edge on the panel.  The ribbon, buttons and raffia are all from my stash.

For the inside of my card I printed an insert and layered it onto some matching backing paper from the CD:

Fairy Fun

Nearly time for another celebration, New Year this time, I hope you are all doing something nice.

Also it's time for a new Willlow Sketchie Challenge, this time it's Kelly's turn to host and she has given us this fab sketch:

This is my card:

When I first looked at the sketch I found it a bit daunting, but when you get started it's really quite fun to work with.  I used the ready coloured Willow Designs  'Precious' image, I printed it several times so that I could decoupage it.  I then printed the 'Missy' image three times and cut out the large tree, I used the trees  in place of the panels on the sketch.  I coloured the trees using ProMarkers and also the sentiment which is just the top part of a tree.

This is the inside of my card, I've decorated it to complement the front:

Make sure you pop over to the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog, have a look at what the other DT members have created and enter the challenge, you have a fortnight to get your entries in again this time as we are taking it a bit easy over the Christmas period.  The prize is a voucher to spend in the Willow Designs Shop, so come on have a go.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles - Anything Goes
I love ProMarkers - Anything Goes
Charisma Carz Challenge 50 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Thank you for looking, please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Tulip Fairy

This is my second DT card for the Crafting for all Seasons Challenge, we are sponsored by Whoopsie Daisy and The Stamping Boutique and the theme this time is Fairies.  This card uses the beautiful Tulip Fairy image from The Stamping Boutique.

I decided to make a round Easel Card.  The image has been coloured with ProMarkers and I added some glitter to her wings and the stars in the background.   I cut the image out and mounted it onto some pink card stock that matched the colour of the tulips.  The swirl is one of  Spellbinders Floral Flourishes and the flowers are from my stash.

I would like to enter this card in to the following challenges:

I love ProMarkers Challenge 97 - Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday - Anything Goes

Sitting Pretty

I hope everyone has had a fabulous Christmas, I had all the family for Christmas day but it has been quiet since so I've had a chance to play, just as well because it's time for another Crafting for all Seasons Challenge and this time the theme is Fairies - a nice change from Christmas.

This time we are sponsored by Whoopsie Daisy and The Stamping Boutique.  My first card is using one of the images from Whoopsie Daisy Sheet 185, you get four images on each sheet and they are all gorgeous.

I decided to make a thank you card, we will be needing quite a few of those in our house.  I coloured her with ProMarkers and added glitter to her wings and the flower in her hair.  The papers are Papermania layered onto Core'dinations card stock.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

The inside of my card has been decorated to complement the front.

Red and White Christmas

I've made this card for the new Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog and the first challenge them is 'Christmas Wishes'.  This card is my youngest son's Christmas card, he loves cute animals so I thought this would be perfect for him.

I always find boy's cards difficult, especially choosing colours and embellishments so I kept it simple with just two colours, a couple of buttons and a charm.  The image and papers are all from Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends CD and the sentiment is computer generated.  Everything is backed with Core'dinations card stock and the image, corners and sentiment attached with Collall 3D glue to add some dimension.

For the inside of the card I re-sized one of the inserts from the CD and backed it on the same Core'dinations card stock.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Joanna Sheen Challenge - Christmas Wishes
My Time to Craft Challenge 169 - Winter Pals
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 195 - Stripes
2 Sisters Challenge 70 - Kids Christmas
Top Tip Tuesday Challenge 65 - Anything Christmas (Tip - Don't buy lots of different coloured ribbons, string, raffia, flowers etc., buy white  or natural ones and colour them to match your project with ProMarkers or other Alcohol Pens you will then have a perfect match and save yourself a fortune.)

Thank you for looking.

Rock Star

Hi all, well another day closer to Christmas.  I think I'm about ready now - or is that wish full thinking.

This is a card that I made for my son's 16th Birthday, he is really into his music and is lead singer and plays guitar in a band called 'Talking to Amy' check them out HERE, they're fantastic, but I'm probably a bit biased.

Anyway back to the card

It had to have a musical theme didn't it.  The papers are Hot off The Press and the sentiment and letters are from Double Sprinkles of Kraft, a collaboration between Nikky Hall and Sharon Armstrong, I re-coloured the letters with ProMarkers.  The Guitar image is from Delicious Doodles.  I added Crystal Lacquer to the Guitar and letters, full details of everything I have used are listed below.

This is the inside of the card:

A Gift

This is my entry for this weeks Top Tip Tuesday, I nearly missed it this week, I've been so busy with my son's 16th Birthday.

This is a gift that I am going to give my Mother-in-Law for Christmas:

It's a picture made using one of the decoupage images from Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker CD.  You can't really see the decoupage, it's really difficult to photograph something with glass in front.  I chose a Faye Whittaker image because I've previously made MIL cards using this CD and she always loves them.

This was my second attempt at making this picture, I cut out all the pieces and layered them up using Collall 3D decoupage glue (on the first attempt I made the picture so high that the glass wouldn't fit on top, so I had to print everything out again).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge 64 - A Gift (Tip - if you are putting a decoupage picture in a picture frame make sure you don't make the decoupage so high that the glass will not fit properly)
Mami Doodles Challenge 40 - Altered Art/Home Decor
Anything Goes Challenge 56 - Anything but a card
Ooh La La Challenge 95 - Anything but a card
Totally Gorjuss Challenge 111 - For Someone Special (Mother-in-Law)

Thank you for looking.

Birthday Wishes

We all say that men's cards are the hardest to make, but teenage boy's have to be the most difficult ever.  I struggled to make this card for days, it's for my 13 year old son to give his 16 year old brother.  In the end I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out, I just hope he likes it.

The papers and the sentiment are from Polka Doodles Pretty Tuff CD and the letters and numbers are from Double Sprinkles of Kraft a collaboration between Polka Doodles and Willow Designs.  Everything is matted onto Kraft card stock.

This is the inside of the card, I've decorated it to match the front:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 78 - for someone special
The Corrosive Challenge 139 - Anything EXCEPT Christmas
Allsorts Week 134 - Blue and brown
Glitter Geeks Week 28 - Anything Goes
Card Crafters Circle - Celebration

That's me finished for today, I need to get organised for the birthday celebrations tomorrow.  Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Walter in Green

Well, another week has flown by and it's time for a new Willlow Sketchie Challenge .  This week it's Hazel who has provided us with this great sketch:
Hazel would also like to see some red and green in your design.
I've been playing with the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD again and this is my card:
The image and the papers are from the CD, I just inked around the edges and layered everything onto some green card stock.  Walter and the trees have been coloured with ProMarkers and then cut out, I used Collal 3D decoupage glue to raise him up a bit along with the trees that have been edged with glitter, I then added a couple of  flowers topped with a button from my stash.  Quite a simple card really.
This is the inside of my card:
I have decorated it to complement the front.
Make sure you pop over to the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog, have a look at what the other DT members have created and enter the challenge, this time you have a fortnight to get your entries in as we are having a little break over Christmas.  The prize is a voucher to spend in the Willow Designs Shop,  so come on have a go.

Christmas Elf

This is my second DT card for the Crafting for all Seasons Challenge, the theme this week is Christmas Cards.

We have two great sponsors again, Meljen's Designs and The Stamping Boutique and this card  has been made using the 'Smoochie the Elf' image from The Stamping Boutique:

I coloured the image with ProMarkers and added some glitter to the hat.  I cut the image out with a Spellbinders Labels Eighteen die and inked the outside before mounting it on a mat made by drawing around the outside of the die and cutting it out.

The papers are from NitWit Collections and everything has been layered onto Core'dinations card stock.  The embellishments are from the same NitWit Collection and the card candy is from my stash.

This is the inside of my card, I have decorated it to complement the front:

Christmas Fairy

It doesn't seem possible but this is the last Crafting for all Seasons Challenge before Christmas and surprise, surprise we've all been making Christmas Cards.

We have two great sponsors again this week, Meljen's Designs and The Stamping Boutique and this card  has been made using the gorgeous Holly Christmas Fairy image from Meljen's:

I coloured the image with ProMarkers and added some glitter to her hat, dress and wings.  I then cut her out with a Spellbinders Labels Fifteen die and inked the outside before mounting it on a mat made by drawing around the outside of the die and cutting it out.

The papers are Berry Merry by Jennifer Ellory, they were free with Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine and everything has been layered onto Core'dinations card stock.  I cut the sentiment from a piece of Willow Designs backing paper and mounted that on Core'dinations to match, the ribbon is from my stash.

Quick Christmas

The challenge at Polka Doodles this week is 'Quick Christmas Card', well the thing that took the longest about making these cards was cleaning up the glitter afterwards.  In total I made six cards, but I can only show you four of them as I had to get two in the post.

This is a close up of one:

The image, papers and sentiment on all of them came from one of the Polka Doodles Magical Winter Cd's, I just love these Cd's there is so much on them and they're so flexible.

I also used papers from the Cd's to decorate the inside of the cards:

I used craft base cards, glittered the edges of the papers, image and sentiment and just layered them up.  Some simple punched and glittered snowflakes are the only embellishments, the images are so detailed they don't need anything else.

I would like to enter these cards into the following challenges:

Polka Doodles Week 49 - Quick Christmas Card
Dream Valley Challenge 22 - Christmas
Moving Along with the Times Challenge 127 - Last Minute Christmas
Paper Sundaes Challenge 99 - Anything Christmas
Paper Crafting Journey - Christmas
Phindy's Place Challenge 85 - Clean and Simple

Thank you for looking, please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Pretty in Pink

The challenge over at Ooh La La Creations at the moment is Anything but a Card so I thought I'd make another of my little desk calendars.  They were a great success at the Christmas Fair that I sold at earlier this month, they completely sold out, people bought them as gifts.

For this one I've used one of the cute images from Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends CD, I teamed it up with Henbury Lane papers by docrafts that have been in my stash for ages and layered everything onto some matt gold card stock.

The calendar is made in an easel card design with the calendar as the stopper.  I added a Spellbinders Floral Flourishes swirl cut from the same gold card stock and embellished it with some small pink roses, a pink bow completes the project.

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges:

Ooh La La Creations Challenge 95 - Anything but a Card
Just Some Lines Challenge - Handmade Gifts
The Crafty Pad Challenge 151 - Send someone a Smile - No Birthdays or Christmas
The Crazy Challenge 97 - More than one fold (my calendar is an easel card design)
Totally Papercrafts Challenge 96 - Anything but Christmas
Scrap-Creations - Make it a present

There is still time to enter the challenge over at Willow Sketchie, pop over and have a look, the prize this week is a voucher to spend in the Willow Designs Shop.

Thank you for looking, please leave me a comment I would love to know what you think.

Winter Wishes

Well, another week has flown by and it's time for a new Willlow Sketchie Challenge .  This week it's Anne-Marie who has provided us with this great sketch:

and this is my interpretation of it:

As you can see I've had fun this week and really played around with the sketch.  First I turned it upside down and then I decided to use trees and a fence in place of the rectangles.  The image is Winnie in Earmuffs from the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD and the trees and fence are from Polka Doodles Magical Winter.  I coloured the trees, fence and Winnie with Spectrum Noir pens and then cut them all out.  I've edged the trees and fence with glitter to represent snow and mounted everything onto a Crafter's Companion Snowman card blank.

I used another card blank and some more trees to decorate the inside of my card:

Make sure you pop over to the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog, have a look at what the other DT members have created and enter the challenge, the prize this week is a voucher to spend in the Willow Designs Shop.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Wild English Flowers

I made this card at the request of a neighbour.  She wanted to send a card to her elderly Father who lives in Australia with wild English flowers on it, well that was a challenge in itself but fortunately Joanna Sheen came to the rescue with her Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection Part 2.  My neighbour wanted a decoupage card but unfortunately this image was not in the decoupage section so I printed it several times and created the decoupage myself.  The backing paper is also from the CD and is layered onto dark green card as is the image.

I printed an insert from the CD and layered that onto the same dark green card stock to decorate the inside of the card.

As the card is for an elderly gentleman I just added some card candy as an embellishment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I did it Creations Challenge 84 - Flowers
Glitter Geeks Week 26 - Decoupage
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Times Gone By

This is the card that I've made for the CD Sunday Challenge this week which is 'Things with Whiskers'.  I'm back to my first love of decoupage again and this lovely image is from the decoupage section on Joanna Sheen's 'Times Gone By' CD.

After printing and cutting out the image I assembled it with Collall 3D glue, I then layered it onto white card stock and then gold mirror card before finally mounting it onto an 8 inch square card base.  I followed the same process with the sentiment which is also from the CD.  The backing paper has been created from an insert on the same CD and layered onto gold mirror card.  I've added some gold ribbon and some white poinsettias from my stash to complete the card.

For the inside of my card I enlarged an insert and layered it onto gold mirror card.

I would  like to enter this card into the following challenges:

CD Sunday Challenge - Things with Whiskers
Glitter Geeks Challenge Week 26 - Decoupage
Sugar Creek Hollow - Christmas card in non-traditional colours

Please leave me a comment, I love reading them.

ANYTHING GOES

It's time for another Willow Sketchie Challenge  and this week we have no sketch and no recipe it's ANYTHING GOES, so make sure you get your entries in.  You can use anything from your crafty stash and any image but of course we'd love to see something from Willow Designs if you have it.
The DT have all used the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD and I have chosen the Dear Santa image.

I printed some snowflake paper from the CD and layered it onto silver mirror card and then onto a white base card.  I took some textured card and tore it into two strips to achieve the layered snow look and then embellished it with glitter.  I cut out the layers of the Dear Santa image and assembled them with Collall 3D glue, I then layered it onto red card stock and then silver mirror card.  To complete the card I coloured some white seam binding red to match and added a bow to the bottom of the card.
Full details of everything I have used are listed below.  This is the inside of my card which has been decorated to complement the front:

Image:  Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD - Dear Santa
Papers:  Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD
